Practical reinforcement of programming skills is carried out through exercises performed on workstations equipped with a programmer and a SIMATIC S7-300 controller.
Course duration: 5 days.
1. Exploring additional capabilities and instructions of STEP7:
- function blocks;
- indirect addressing, address registers;
- passing parameters to blocks — by reference and by value;
- passing parameters of structured data types to blocks;
- parametric data types;
- working with pointers.
2. Creating program source code files.
3. Centralized and decentralized system architectures based on programmable controllers; use of expansion modules and communication processors for implementing distributed systems;
4. General approaches to optimizing programs for speed and memory footprint; principles of controller selection.
